Dave and his boss John Parker on top of the world. These kind of views you can't get anywhere else but snowmobiling.

Dave and I went on a snowmobile trip to a great place called Beaver Creek. This is the lodge we stayed at. Some of Dave's co-workers also came up and stayed and played in the snow with us.
This is Mike already for school. Last Friday the 7th graders all had permission to wear their pajamas to school. His dog Buddy wants to go too. You really can't tell in this picture, but his pajamas have moose all over them. I think Michael is a Mainard at heart.

I'm Ready For Spring!

The two blobs of snow on the ground are all that is left of Tim and Mike's friends. Could this be signs of global warming, or is it just the first sign of Spring? Two more weeks and I'm starting my tomato seedlings.

Last week, Tim and Mike didn't have anyone to play with, so they made some friends.

Can you tell who I wanted to win the SuperBowl? We all know the outcome to Sunday's game, but did you know those referees were paid off by someone? I suspect my husband... Hmmmmm

All Right all you Super Bowl fans, today is the big day; Pittsburg is going down. Jerome Bettis is just going to have to retire without one of those big nuggets on his finger. I'm not particulary a SeaHawks fan, but do happen think QB Matt Hasselbeck has what it takes to win the Super Bowl - besides, he is kinda cute! Yes, I know I'm such a girl.

What would Super Bowl Sunday be without the great commercials and the good eats. I honestly don't think my boys could care less about who wins, except maybe Mikey. All they want is the Buffalo Wings I make every time a football game comes on. This recipe comes from one of my favorite web-sites called Top Secret Receipes . It's pretty close to Outback Steakhouse Kookaburra Wings. I usually quadruple the receipe because it's just not enough to feed my family. The recipe is never the same everytime I make it. I start out with the base recipe, but usually end up adding whatever sounds good at the time.

Ingredients:

  1. 2 T. all-purpose flour
  2. 1 T. Kraft Macaroni & Cheese topping (powder that comes in the packet)
  3. 1 1/4 tsp salt
  4. 3/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  5. 1 tsp chili powder
  6. 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  7. 1/4 tsp. Paprika
  8. 1/4 tsp onion powder
  9. 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  10. 1/8 tsp. ground Cumin
  11. dash of ground cloves

Mix ingredients together in a large plastic container (something with a lid) The wings should be pretty dry before placing them in the bowl. It will make the mix turn gummy if they are too wet. Place about six wings in the mix. After securing the lid on tight, shake to coat the wings. Place the coated wings on a cookie sheet and chill for at least an hour before deep frying. I cook my wings in a deep fryer on 360 degrees for about 4 minutes each batch. Make sure you let the oil heat back up to 360 degrees after each batch. The wings won't cook right unless you do. The kids like the wings served with Ranch dressing, I prefere Blu Cheese mixed with Durke's buffalo wing sauce for dipping. I also cut celery and carrot sticks to help cut the spiceyness. I hope you all enjoy this time honored tradition, not just to cheer on the teams, but to spend time creating happy memories with your family. Go SeaHawks!!!

Club Ride: Double Hill

Snowmobiling in Utah definitely has its challenges. This monstrous hill is named Double Hill for apparent reasons. I highmarked about 3/4 of the way up on the second hill. Going up is the easy part, it's the coming down that can ruin you or your sled. When you start gathering too much speed, hitting the brakes is not an option. About halfway down you are in a (hopefully) controlled slide. About the time you feel your back-end starting to slide out from under you, you want to give it some throttle. At least that's what I do.

Snowmobiling at the Sinks

Hi family, I just wanted to share this picture with you. If you look at the front of Dave's snowmobile, you can see why Utah is said to have the greatest snow on earth! Last Saturday, Dave and his boss John Parker, decided to take advantage of the fresh powder mother nauture had been so kind to share with us. I, like always, didn't wait for an invitation and decided to tag along. Beside a wardrobe malfunction (broken zipper on my snow pants) and my snowmobile rolling on top of me, I would say it was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday.
